Professional Negligence

“Professional Negligence” generally refers to a professional’s conduct which falls below acceptable standards within that professional’s area of practice, which causes injury. Such negligence includes the conduct of health care professionals (doctors, nurses, therapists, hospitals and nursing care facilities), legal professionals (attorneys and paralegals), and others.

In many instances, professional negligence claims arise in the context of other types of cases. For example, a client may visit the professional’s office because he or she has slipped on ice and suffered a back injury. After investigating the situation, we may determine that the liability lies not exclusively with the owner of a property where the slip and fall occurred, but with the architect, builder or contractor who designed or constructed a drain to empty onto or drain across a sidewalk. Numerous other examples we could provide illustrate the importance of a thorough investigation and careful consideration of each client’s individual circumstances.

We work closely with preeminent experts in all professional fields to develop an insightful approach to the handling of our clients’ cases.
